About 10 years ago I became an artist with the support of eight other women who also wanted to find their artistic capabilities. By meeting to challenge ourselves, supporting each other with workshops and learning new techniques, we found our artistic capabilities and learned to thrive in the art world.
It is a rare moment when I am not thinking about a new art project, collecting bits and pieces for new ideas or following a new artistic pursuit. My clay masks have been a passion for the last eight years or so, although I occasionally work in other mediums. I have also recently developed a tiny house series called “Everyone Needs a Village” in response to my work as a volunteer with Eugene’s unhoused community.
Joining New Zone Gallery has given me the opportunity for public display and sale of my work for many years. That has certainly been a highly motivating factor in my development as an artist. I was recently accepted into the prestigious Freed Gallery in Lincoln City, Oregon.
